The Detox Program provides youth ages 12 to 19 with a home-based setting to transition from substance abuse to a healthier lifestyle. Youth are placed in family homes and receive emotional support during detox (one to 10 days in duration). The coordinator meets with the youth in the caregiver’s home to assist with the detox process. Accepts self-referrals. The Stabilization Program continues to address youth's drug and alcohol issues. Youth stay in a family care home for up to 90 days where education, harm reduction, and relapse prevention is emphasized. Youth are encouraged to return to school or search for work, participate in recreational activities, and make other significant lifestyle changes. Youth see an outpatient addictions counsellor, and may see a physician as needed.
